Robert E Lee High School
Class Of 1968

Welcome to the Official Website
Houston Robert E. Lee High Class of 1968
(In 2016, the school was renamed Margaret Long Wisdom High School, after the much-loved journalism teacher, Margaret Wisdom. This was during the period when schools with names of anyone involved with the South during the Civil War were renamed.)

The 55th REUNION

We did it!  We had the 55th class reunion, and although our numbers are getting smaller, the classmate who attended did a fine job of mixing and mingling at The Cadillac Bar. People came from near and far; some for the first time in many years. Not everyone knew everyone, and there were lots of introductions to classmates.

It was so much fun to watch the faces as people recognized each other or shared stories about their lives, during and after our days at Lee.

One story I heard (I won't say who, but let's just say they were really good in math and science) involved getting into the school at night through windows on the second floor that "might have accidentally been left unlocked". Using extremely detailed sketches of the classrooms of two teachers, they completely switched the rooms out, setting them up exactly as they were - right down to the books and stapler on the desk.

There was lots of laughter, and many ailments and medical information was shared thoughout the night. Yep, we're THOSE folks now.

A huge Thank You to those generous members who made donations to help us stay in the black, which we easily accomplished. We were able to give two drink tickets this year! (Isn't it amazing how much the small things matter now?)

I'm still in shock at the fact that this was our 55th celebration of graduating in 1968. It doesn't seem THAT long ago, but I guess it really is.  All things considered, I think we've held up fairly well.

More to come...I'm recovering from my marathon weekend, so stay tuned.   I've asked everyone to send any photos they took so I can put a gallery on the website . If you have any pictures you'd like to post, please send them to me.

The 50th Reunion

The 50th reunion was at the Cadillac Bar, in Houston, on Saturday, September 29, 2018, and it was an extremely well-attended shindig!  Although I haven't counted the check-in sheets yet, I can safely say that there were at least 200+ people there!!! That's the largest reunion we've EVER had.

We had a DJ and a photo booth, a professional photographer and some fun activities.

  • Marie Frangione (Love) won the prize for traveling the longest distance to the reunion. (1885 miles!)
  • There was a tie betwen Nick Cobb and Sharon Kopecky (Hayes) for most marriages. (5)
  • Steve Nelson won for most grandchildren. (8)

We had a class photo taken, and there were so many of us that we had to go out on the street to take it.  THEN, he had to take several shots that he might have to "stitch" together! It was really something seeing all of us together for that CLASS PICTURE once again.

If you weren't there, you missed a very fun night!

Thanks to your generous donations, we were able to give everyone a ticket for a free drink!  Thank you again for your generosity.

We have a Facebook page: RE Lee Houston '68, so check it out and add to it.

If you haven't done so already, please complete your profile on this site, and urge other class members to do so, as well.  This is what we use to send out our information.

Note that the Missing Classmates page automatically includes anyone who hasn't registered their profile, so there will be many names.  Please register on the site, even if you can't attend a reunion, and urge other classmates to do so.

If you know of any class members that should be on the In Memoriam page, please let Cay and Cathy know.

Please stay in touch with news about yourself and others,

Cay Dickson
