Mary Carlyn Cole

Carlyn Sweetman, 57 of Denton, died Friday, November 2, 2007 at Baylor University Hospital in Dallas. She was born September 21, 1950 in Houston, Texas to Paul Rundell and Mary Kathryn (Rucker) Cole.  She attended public schools in Houston and graduated summa cum laude from Baylor University with a degree in Elementary Education in 1971.  She was married to Karl Sweetman on May 15, 1971 in Houston.  Carlyn was a homemaker and member of the St. Andrew Presbyterian Church. Her kind and gentle spirit was rivaled only by that of her many wonderful friends who were always so willing to give help, support and, most importantly, their love during her long battle with cancer.  A memorial service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, November 9, 2007 at the St. Andrew Presbyterian Church, 300 W. Oak, Denton, with Rev. Cole and his wife Sarah of Houston, sister Karen Skinner and her husband Robert of Dallas, brothers Mitchell Cole of Houston, David Cole and his wife Paula of Houston, granddaughter Kate Buchanan of Denton and numerous other family members and friends. 

Cause of death: breast cancer, November 2, 2007

Was married to Karl Sweetman, also a member of the 1968 class.
