Robert " Bob" Selig
1950-2021

Robert "Bob" Edward Selig passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Thursday, the 4th of November 2021. He was 71 years of age.

Bob was a proud native Texan being born in Houston, Texas on the 3rd of March 1950. He graduated from Robert E. Lee High School (n/k/a Margaret Long Wisdom High School). He earned a B.A. in Sociology from Tulane University and B.A. in Business, Economics and Accounting from University of Saint Thomas.
During his formative years, while attending Camp Rio Vista, he developed skills as a sharpshooter. In later years, Bob's interests included equestrian cross-county competition, many snow-skiing adventures, and other pursuits with his wife, Susan.

Bob held the position of Chief Financial Officer of several businesses and organizations, including Mawyer Enterprises, the Mankind Project, and New Warrior (Houston). After becoming an Enrolled Agent, Bob found his calling in a career managing all aspects related to financial and account matters as President and owner of T.A.C.S., Inc., cultivating many devoted clients/friends along the way.
Bob's affinity for Disney, especially Mickey Mouse, was a consistent theme throughout his life. He was a lover of old western movies. Bob was an avid reader and collector of literature. His collections included books from multiple centuries, cultures and genres, with special interest in historical literature. In addition, he was an extensive comic book and comic strip collector. Bob loved both attending and watching WWF/ WWE wrestling. His love of animals of all kinds was well known, especially dogs and cats, for which he would never turn away a stray. He volunteered on the Board of several local animal rescue organizations.
During his lifetime, Bob attended St. John the Divine Episcopal Church, Christ Church Cathedral with his grandparents, and his final church home, First Baptist Church Pasadena.

A devoted father, his children were first in his life, spending much of his time as a soccer, baseball and basketball coach of their athletic teams and a Troop 55 Boy Scouts leader.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Gordon Edward Selig and Bebe Clemens Selig. He is survived by his devoted loving wife, Susan Steadman-Selig, his sister, Bebe Burns and husband Bob; his children Elizabeth "Liz" Selig, Jonathan Selig and wife Emma, Christopher Selig and partner Christine Rinehart, Philip Selig and wife Heather, Marshall Paskett and wife Ashley, Lacey Burey and husband Mike; his grandchildren, Edward Selig, Brooke Stephens, Valerie Selig, Jack Stephens, Harrison Paskett, Emma Paskett, Luke Burey, Dakota Burey, and Nicholas Selig; and nephews Sam Burns and wife Megan, and Bill Burns.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are Jonathan Selig, Christopher Selig, Philip Selig, Marshall Paskett, Michael Burey, Robert Steadman, and Richard Steadman. Those serving as honorary pallbearers are Edward Selig, Jack Stephens, Harrison Paskett, Luke Burey, and Nicholas Selig.

Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from five o'clock in the afternoon until seven o'clock in the evening on Tuesday, the 9th of November, in the library and grand foyer of Geo. H. Lewis & Sons, 1010 Bering Drive in Houston.

The funeral service is to be conducted at eleven o'clock in the morning on Wednesday, the 10th of November, in the chapel of First Baptist Church Pasadena, 7500 Fairmont Parkway in Pasadena.
